INSURANCE
We recommend that all clients obtain proper medical and travel insurance prior to the trip. Make sure your travel insurance adequately includes medical, emergency and rescue coverage.

ALTITUDE SICKNESS
Altitude is a major factor on all of our Tibet trips. We will often reach altitudes of over 5750m. This can have mild or severe effects on the body no matter what your level of health. Symptoms can include head ache, hard to breath, dizziness, nausea, loss of appetite, and difficulty sleeping. The best way to prevent this is to stay extremely hydrated and conscious of how your body is functioning. We also schedule rest days to help the body acclimatize. There is also prescription altitude medication called Diamox (consult your doctor) that can help prevent symptoms. We also carry several oxygen tanks and portable altitude chambers. It’s optional to have a file with your medical history on this type of trip with recent medical report.
Disclaimer: Please be reminding that each client is traveling at their own risk.

PHYSICAL FITNESS
Although most of the trip will be journey in vehicles, it is important that clients are in relatively good health. The trek around Kailash requires some strenuous hiking and the altitude may take a physical toll on the body. We suggest that clients implement an exercise routine 3 months prior to the trip. This may include hiking for 1-2 hrs, morning walk or jogging for at least an hour for 3-4 days a week minimum. If you have any concerns about the physical demands of the trip, please feel free to contact us. For any persistent health problems, please consult your doctor.
