Reach Lhasa
On the way to Lhasa you can enjoy the view of Bhamaputra river/Yarlung Tsangpo river which is the longest and the largest river in Tibet. When you reach Lhasa, your tour guide will be available to assist you throughout your stay.
Once you are in Lhasa, as an foreign visitor you can either take rest for a brief moment or if you are good then you can visit the Potala Square, where you can view the fountain which have different colors and capture stunning photos of the Potala surroundings. This day you will stay overnight in Lhasa.
Lhasa Tour – Jokhang Temple, Potala palace and Barkor Street
This day will put forward an opportunity for you to visit the wonderful Potala Palace which is also known as the Dalai lama’s winter palace. This was the same palace which was set up by the 33rd king of Tibet in the 7th century. The adorned burial stupas of the former Dalai Lama is one of the popular tourist attraction which you can visit in Potala Palace.
After the visit to Potala palce you will have your lunch then you can head to Jokhang Temple. This temple was also build in the 7th century by the 33rd king of Tibet, in order to flourish the Buddhist culture and religion. Jokhang Temple is famous in the world for the statue of Lord Buddha Sakyamuni and is probably the most admired statue in Tibetan Buddhism. Just around the Jokhang temple is the Barkhor street and this is the place where you can chat and enjoy the lifestyle of the Tibetan locals. In the meantime you can buy souvenirs as well. This same day you will stay overnight in Lhasa.
Drepung and Sera Monastery
Early morning, you will be rewarded with the visit of Drepung monastery. It is one among the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet. This monastery was founded in 1416 by Jamyang choge.
At Afternoon, you can visit the Sera Monastery. Like Drepung monastery Sera is another one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet. This monastery was founded by Jamchen Chojey in 1419. The main attraction of Sera Monasteries is the Monks debate which takes place at around like 3 – 5 in the afternoon. This day you will stay overnight in Lhasa like the previous two days.
